Novel Approach Leads to Potential Sepsis Prevention in Burn Patients
To help reduce the risk of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection and its associated complications, Abdul Hamood, Ph.D., a professor for the Department of Immunology and Molecular Microbiology at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine, and a team of collaborators investigated the feasibility of developing a topical treatment unrelated to conventional antibiotics that can be used to battle Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Cuello’s Potassium Channel Research Published in PNAS
Cuello and his team from TTUHSC’s Department of Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics recently completed a study in which they attempted to capture at atomic resolution a picture/snapshot of one of the two ion-bound configuration that seem to coexist within the selectivity filter of K+-channel.
School of Pharmacy Recognizes Faculty, Staff
The School of Pharmacy on May 10 conducted its annual Celebration of Achievement to recognize faculty and staff who helped make the 2018-2019 school year a special one.
Das Research Published in High-Impact Journal
A research paper authored by Hiranmoy Das, Ph.D., a professor for the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy, has been accepted for publication by Autophagy, the top-ranking journal related to autophagy research with a current impact factor of 11.10.

School of Pharmacy Named to Honor Amarillo Businessman, Philanthropist
TTUHSC on April 25 announced the naming of its pharmacy school as the TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy. The naming honors the lifelong dedication and support of TTUHSC by Hodge.
TTUHSC to Expand Graduate Program to Abilene
In February, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) approved TTUHSC’s application to expand the School of Pharmacy’s Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences to the Abilene campus.
